Cinnamon Apple Scones

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 large apple, cored, peeled, and chopped fine
  • ½ cup milk
  • Extra milk
  • Extra Sugar
  • Extra cinnamon
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Cut in butter until crumbly. Add finely chopped apple and milk. Stir to form a soft dough.
  3. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently 8 to 10 times. Pat into two 6-inch circles. Place on greased baking sheet.
  4. Brush tops with milk and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Score each circle into 6 pie-shaped wedges.
  5. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes, or until brown and risen. Serve warm.
